The OSCE chairwoman-in-office, Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, said recently in response to a question that progress in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is expected in 2009 and that all the OSCE states firmly support Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. 

This statement did not please young people in the occupying country – Armenia, and they sent letters to Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis calling on her to make another statement and to change her views on territorial integrity and the principles underpinning the destiny of peoples.

The “IRELI” Public Union took action in support of the OSCE chairwoman-in-office, Dora Bakoyannis. Hundreds of letters of thanks were sent to the e-mail address of the Greek Foreign Ministry and a club was set up to support Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis. On 15 February a statement of support was submitted to the Greek embassy in Azerbaijan.
