The “Friendship camp of Azerbaijani and Turkish young people” project was implemented at the Palydly Sahil recreation center in the Lankaran district from August 10-17, 2009 with organizational support of the "IRELI" Public Union and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The project drawing a total of 40 young leaders – 20 each from Azerbaijan and Turkey – could be considered one of the most interesting camps in Azerbaijan As part of the project, 40 young leaders benefited from trainings on organizing teamwork, practical and creative games, interactive seminars, lectures on inter-cultural dialog, work on ideas related to projects, debate on Azerbaijan-Turkey relations and other topics, as well as culture parties.
In addition, interesting intellectual games, tours, sporting events, cultural and entertainment programs were organized to ensure efficient pastime for youngsters.
The ceremony of opening the camp was held at the conference hall of the Lankaran District Executive Authority at 11.00 on August 11, 2009. It was attended by the head of the district’s Executive Authority, Suleyman Mikayilov, the chairman of the "IRELI" Public Union, Jeyhun Osmanli, the director for Youth and Sports of the Turkish town of Karabuk, Ayhan Chagh, as well as participants in the event and other guests.
