The next training on “Municipality-2009” in the framework of “Local Democracy Week” was launched in Astara and Zerdab

Considering the upcoming municipal elections at the end of 2009, “IRELI” Public Union and national municipality associations of Azerbaijani cities, towns and villages decided to organize the joint activities in the framework of “Local Democracy Week in Azerbaijan”, in order to increase the citizens’ knowledge of municipality law and their interest to the elections.
Power Point presentations and interactive discussions on such topics as “Municipality status” and “Election campaign organisation” will be held for active youth in every city and region.
As a visual facility the busses equipped with the posters of “Local Democracy Week” and placards calling the voters for active participation in the elections will be sent to all cities and regions of Azerbaijan Republic.
Besides trainings, concerts of Azerbaijani classical music with “The future to come with the Youth” slogan in performance of young students of Baku Musical Academy is planned to be hosted in some cities and regions.
The active youth interested in municipality elections will take part in the event. It should be mentioned that starting from October 21st, 2009 the trainings begun in different regions of the country. In the framework of the project the next trainings will be held on November 6th, 2009 in Astara and zerdab regions.
