Azerbaijani Cultural night was held In Germany

Representation of “Ireli” Public Union in Germany organized Cultural Night named “Azerbaijan-land of fire!” with Leipzig University and Azerbaijani students during the 16th International Student Week (21-26 June) called “Cosmopolitan Leipzig!” . Azerbaijan culture was represented first time in this ceremony which is annually organized since1994. Embassy of Azerbaijan Republic in Germany, Coordination Center of Azerbaijanis in Germany, Leipzig University and Azerbaijanis living and studying in Leipzig helped “Ireli” Public Union Representation in Germany to organize this event.
The ceremony was opened by Fikret Akhundov- First Secretary of Ambassador of Azerbaijan Republic in Germany. In his speech Fikret Akhundov informed participants about the establishment of Azerbaijan Republic, its development and Azerbaijan-Germany relations. Also he mentioned Nagorny Kharabakh problem and informed the guest about its realities.
Then in her speech Chief of Azerbaijanis Coordination Center in Germany- Samire Patzer-Ismayilova spoke about ancient history of Azerbaijani culture, beautiful nature and tourism potential.
After the official part the film about Azerbaijan was presented and honorary guest of ceremony, chief of American Mugam Society Jeffrey Werbok made presentation about Azerbaijan music and especially about mugam. Information given about roots and history of mugam, presenting tar and kamancha by Mr. Werbok was interesting for participants. American guest specially mentioned occupation of cradle of Mugam- Garabag by Armenian occupiers.
Delicious dishes and sweets, plov, dolma, dovgha, shekerbura, phaklava and etc. given in the second part of the event gave chance to guests to have more information about Azerbaijani kitchen. Books and videos showing Kharabakh realities were given by Azerbaijan Embassy too. Night ended with Azerbaijan National dances.
“Ireli” Public Union informs its great respect and gratitude to Doctor of Leipzig University Polad Poladli, Embassy of Azerbaijan Respublic in Germany, Coordination Center of Azerbaijanis in Germany, representative of diaspora Anar Bayramov, Azerbaijani representative of International dialogue Society in Leipzig Rafig Abbasov and Azerbaijani students studying in Leipzig University.
