“Let your Voice be heard” National Debate project 2009-2010

As you know, “Debate in Citizen’s Society” Public Union and “IRELI” Public Union came to an agreement of improvement of debate program among youth, started 5 year joint collaboration in this field. Many trainers were trained within the project; the agreement was reached in 31 universities and most universities hosted the debate trainings. The first topic of the training within the project was “The Developing of the State depends on Human Capital”.
As the continuation of the collaboration between the public unions with the joint organizing of Debate in Citizen’s Society” Public Union and “IRELI” Public Union started the “Let your Voice be heard” project. It is planned to involve 700 youth in the project that started since the beginning of November. Every High Educational Institution is covered within the project. The project carries educational purpose. It was intended to implement the Winter Debate Tournament among youth in the framework of the project. In implemented project the “Karl Popper” debate format and rhetoric trainings are providing in 31 higher educational institutions. As the result of the trainings, on December 5th and 6th, 2009 the 10th Rhetoric Tournament on Karl Popper debate format among universities will be held on “The Municipalities can create new opportunities for youth” topic. It should be mentioned that, “Let your Voice be heard” project will cover the educational institutions of 12 regions of Azerbaijan starting from 2010 and will provide the participation of educational institutions’ students in the 1st Universities Debate Forum that will be held in May. The winners and trainers of the 10th Rhetoric Tournament on Karl Popper debate format and the 1st Universities Debate Forum will participate in Summer Debate School.
