Starting from February 2nd with the joint implementation of “IRELI” Public Union and Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan “The Winter University for Young Leaders” has started.

 

First of all, the Minister of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Republic Azad Rahimov, chairman of “IRELI” Public Union Ceyhun Osmanli, The head department of Youth and Sport of Baku city and more than 100 participants of “The Winter University for Young Leaders” visited the graveyard of the National Leader of Azerbaijan Haydar Aliyev in The Honor Avenue.

 

Later the chairman of “IRELI” Public Union Ceyhun Osmanli in the briefing organized for the media representatives cited that “The Winter University for Young Leaders” would be implemented in the 5 star “AFRA” hotel in Oguz during 10 days. There are 110 young people are participating in the project and 10 of them are the media representatives. During the project the trainings on rhetoric, leadership, management, how to start a business, information technologies, foreign affairs, legislation, the priorities of a new period in Azerbaijan, political psychology, political anthropology, democratization, the youth policy in Azerbaijan, civil society, modern cultural streams, the modern tendencies in mass media, philosophy of Azerbaijanism will be held for the participants. Besides that, the meetings of young people with the governmental officials, ministers, members of parliament, also the international representatives in Azerbaijan will be organized. It is expected to trip to the other regions of the north-western part of Azerbaijan during the last day of the program.

 

On February 2nd at 11:00 the escort carrying the young leaders from Baku reached Oguz at 15:00. The participants were placed in the 5 star “AFRA” hotel located in the center of Oguz and after a brief break were divided into teams and the introducing process has started. During 10 days the young leaders will participate in the trainings, will get the knowledge and at the same time will compete in various games in 4 teams. The teams are: Ugur, Etimad, Inkishaf, and Tereggi. The project participants watched the movie of “The Summer University for Young Leaders” held in August in order to more clearly understand such kind of camps.

 

 

On February 3rd, on 10:00 the opening ceremony of “The Winter University” was arranged.

The chairman of “IRELI” Public Union Ceyhun Osmanli, The head of Executive power of Oguz region Aydin Alihuseynov, Member of Parliament Eyvaz Gurbanov and the head of New Azerbaijan Party were attending the event. The chairman of the union greeted the guests. The floor was given to the head of Executive power of Oguz region Aydin Alihuseynov. Aydin Alihuseynov cited that the participation of youth in such kind of events is very valuable. The chairman of “IRELI” Public Union Ceyhun Osmanli mentioned that such kinds of events were making opportunities for young people to create the correct world view about the regions. Member of Parliament Eyvaz Gurbanov wished luck to the youth and congratulated them with the National Youth Day. Then A.Alihuseynov and E.Gurbanov answered the questions of participants.

 

The participants of “The Winter University for Young Leaders” had a meeting with the president of “NOVCO” Group of Companies Farid Novruzi on February 3rd, as the continuation of the trainings. The president of the Company mentioned in the meeting that every person can create his/her business in the market economy. Everything is available in Azerbaijan for that: “Our company was founded in 1999. We were 3 persons then while founding the company. Right now, the number of employees is nearly 400. The main priority is business. There was only one shop in 1999 but now the number of shops is 29”. Then the participants watched the presentation on “Suggesting the business ideas and its realizing” topic. Moreover, Farid Novruzi answered the given questions by participants. In the end all the participants were given special discount cards of MYBRENDS Fashion Club by Farid Novruzi.

 

After lunch on February 3rd, the participants joined the third lecture. The president of “GRBS” Company Bahram Gurbanov informed the youth about “Leadership skills, rhetoric, business ethics, and effective communication”. Various intellectual games were organized during the training course. Bahram Gurbanov cited that the main aspects of development of team are reliableness, belief, purpose, communication: “The effective communication is the sign of every achieved success. The communication can be in the written form, orally, by using gestures and the best is body language. The body language consists of mimic, glance, gesture and style. The words – 7%, the sounds – 38%, the body language – 55% is remembered.”

 

The last guests of the second day of The Winter University were the director of “Planet Parni iz Baku” KVN Theatre Tahir Imanov and the representative of the theatre Elchin Hamidov. The guests mentioned that, the KVN has great importance for Azerbaijan. But unfortunately, nowadays KVN is not in the high level. One of the main conditions of international KVN is to be implemented in russian language. It is important to know russian language, history and culture in order to participate in international KVN. There are a lot of talented young people, many ideas, but unfortunately, half of young people don’t know russian language. That’s why; Azerbaijan is not represented in international KVN for years. We couldn’t achieve the goals yet. Our main aim is to represent Azerbaijan in international KVN arena. W should believe first in order to achieve our aims. We have already made our first step. We started the joint implementation of “Shen Nar” Humor Cup with “IRELI” Public Union. The KVN team is the history itself. It has already been proved by its victories. We should ever keep it in our hearts and never forget it.

 

The Young Leaders had a meeting with the expert on “The medical-biology principles of Leadership” topic, the chairman of Azerbaijan-Germany Surgery Union, the scientific secretary of Scientific-Surgery Center named after Topchubashov, Dr. Gurban Muslumov. It was an interesting meeting for the Young Leaders and with the questions and answers part the meeting was continued.

 

 Later, the participants had a meeting with the head of Youth and Sport Head Department of Baku Ragif Abbasov. Within the meeting the psychology tests were realized. According to the test results the participants who correctly answered the given questions were awarded with the diplomas by the Youth and Sport Head Department of Baku: 1st place – Hikmat Dadashov from “Etimad” team, 2nd place – Aysel Mikayilzade from “Inkishaf” team, 3rd place – Narmin Mammadova from “Inkishaf” team. At the 2nd level among the leaders of “Etimad”, “Tereggi”, “Ugur”, “Inkishaf” the knowledge capacity on “Azerbaijan Constitution”, “Independent Azerbaijan”, “Parliament”, “Armenian-Azerbaijan Conflict”, “Genocide of Azerbaijanis” was tested. The interesting questions were also asked to Ragif Abbasov.

 

 

On February 4th, in the afternoon the youth had a meeting with the Member of Parliament Anar Mamedkhanov. The MP cited that these kinds of events are very important and for the young people it is a chance for getting the better improvement. Answering the questions of the youth the MP brought to attention the positiveness of spreading news in Armenian language: “We should force our enemies in their field”. The MP noted that recently is going to open the huge “Production”, to invite well-known directors from Hollywood to Azerbaijan and is going to make movies on “The history of Azerbaijan”, “The Old City”, “Gobustan”, “The history of Mugam” .

 

The last expert of the day was Faig Bagirov with the topic on “The way to Success”. He mentioned that there are 3 important elements in every work: Knowledge – Experience - Intention. Besides that, Faig Bagirov made a presentation about topic and in the end answered all the given questions by the youth.  

 

It snowed as it was expected. On February 5th the Young Leaders had a morning exercise on the background of wonderful scenery of Oguz, after the breakfast they joined the seminars as it was planned according to the program. The guests of the day were the deputy minister of Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies Elmir Velizade with the “Information Technologies: Social Networks, Web news, Web Business” topic; the chairman of “Yumroo LLC” Anar Yolchuyev. Answering many questions of youth on social networks, Anar Yolchiyev mentioned that is going to present “Yalli cavan” tariff package the joint project of Azerfon and Yumroo to the winner team members of Winter University.

 

Later, in the meeting with the head manager of Social Network “Yalli.az” Mikayil Mammadov the youth was given advices on how to realizing the ideas of creative youth and shared his experience with the participants.

At the second part of the day the Educational Institutions Secretary Vusal Bekirov and Board Member Ramiz Mammadov organized various energizers on the teamwork and effective communication.

 

As you know, on February 2nd-10th, 2010 the trainings of “The Winter University for Young Leaders” organized by “IRELI” Public Union were continued in Baku, in the Strategic Research Center under the President of Azerbaijan Republic. On February 8th thesenior adviser of the political analyses and informational provision department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Farhad Mammadov gave a lecture on the philosophy of Azerbaijanism to the young leaders. F. Mammadov mentioned that besides ethnical belonging Azerbaijani citizens unite on the Azerbaijani ideology. Later, Farhad Mammadov answered the questions asked by youth.

 

 

After lunch on February 8th, the youth had a meeting with the Head Secretary of Writers Union Chingiz Abdullayev. Chingiz Abdullayev mentioned that such kind of events is the positive step for the youth improvement. Ch.Abdullayev said that he is the only writer living on his own fees: “My incomes are from books, movies and screen plays. More than 20 years I don’t earn money from Azerbaijan. 8 films were shot regarding to my screen plays. One of them was 13 serials, the other was 20 serials, and another one was 2 and 1 serial. My books were translated into 27 languages. And sooner it would be translated to the 28th language – Chinese”. The writer mentioned that the reading level of the youth is low: “The situation according to this is not satisfactory. According to the statistics the reading percentage in Europe is 70%, in England is 62%, in Saint-Petersburg is 58%, in Georgia is 31%, in Armenia 29%, but in Azerbaijan it is just 8%. The result of people’s visiting the museums and at the same time the numbers of book stores are few. The writer also mentioned that those who don’t read books don’t get very experienced in life.

 

The last guests on February 8th were the head of “Ali and Nino” book store network Nigar Kocharli, the anchorwoman Nargiz Calilova and the producer of “Pencere” TV program Gunel Anarqizi. The guests considered highly the valuable attending of the youth to such kind of events and the sincere discussions about the activities and the other topics with the young people.

 

The first expert on February 9th Adviser to the Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Roya Talibova held a Simulation game among youth on “Reconstruction of Iraq” topic. Later, the head of APA Vusale Mahirqizi and the head of news department of Ictimai TV channel Anar Yusifoglu met with the young leaders and the seminar on “The work with media, the relations with media, and the new tendencies in mass media” topic was held. The head of APA Vusale Mahirqizi provided the participants with the information about the agency she is leading: “APA is an online agency. Nowadays the Azerbaijani readers receive the information in Azerbaijani and Russian languages. But the number of Azerbaijani news portals has especially increased lately. Now, APA is spreading approximately 600-650 news in 5 languages every day.”

The head of news department of Ictimai TV channel Anar Yusifoglu gave information about the news policy of the Company. A.Yusifoglu mentioned that the department he is leading is working on the new projects and Ictimai TV channel pays special attention to the viewing the more serious, the more important occasions of the country. The guests answered the questions given by University participants in the end.
